我が家では自動給餌器を導入していて、猫たちの健康を考えて「小分けに少しずつ」ご飯が出てくるように設定しています。 飼い主が直接あげるのもいいけれど、決まった時間に規則正しく出てくる安心感は、猫たちにとっても心地よいリズムになっているようです。

でも、そうなると猫たちの関心は、飼い主よりも「あの魔法の箱」へ……（笑）。 今日は、そんな自動給餌器と猫たちの、ちょっとシュールで愛おしい関係についてお届けします。

自動給餌器が作動する、かすかな駆動音。 私たち人間にはほとんど聞こえないような小さな音でも、猫たちの耳には「最高のファンファーレ」として響くようです。

ついさっきまで別の部屋で爆睡していたはずなのに、音がした瞬間に猛ダッシュ！ コーナーを鮮やかに曲がり、お皿の前へ一番乗りする姿は、まさにプロのアスリート。 「あ、今食べたかったやつだにゃ！」と言わんばかりの、満足げな背中を見ていると、こちらも自然と笑顔になってしまいます。😊🌸

「次は何時かにゃ？」機械の前で会議を始める猫たち

小分けに出しているからこそ、猫たちは次のタイミングも熟知しています。

例えば、放出時間の数分前。 機械の前でじーっとお座りをして、今か今かと待ち構える姿。 時には、「ねえ、これ叩いたら出てくるんじゃない？」と、機械の出口をそーっと覗き込んだり、チョイチョイと確認してみたり……。

多頭飼いならではの、お皿の前の場所取り合戦も、この時間の大事な儀式。🍀 機械を相手に真剣に交渉（？）している猫たちの後ろ姿は、ずっと見ていても飽きない最高のエンターテインメントです。✨

満足の毛並みに触れて。明日もまた、美味しい音が響きますように。

カリカリと良い音を立てて完食したあとの猫ちゃんは、お口の周りをペロリと整えて、誇らしげ。 その幸せな余韻に浸っているふわふわの体に触れると、こちらの心までお腹いっぱいになるような気がします。

In our home, we’ve introduced an automatic feeder and set it to dispense food in small portions throughout the day for our cats’ health. While feeding them directly is wonderful, the reliability of food arriving at fixed times seems to create a comfortable rhythm for them.

However, this means the cats’ interest often shifts from the owner to “that magic box”… (lol). Today, I’d like to share the somewhat surreal and adorable relationship between the automatic feeder and the cats.

The faint mechanical sound of the automatic feeder starting up. Even a sound so small that humans can barely hear it resonates like a “grand fanfare” in the cats’ ears.

They might have been fast asleep in another room just a moment ago, but the second they hear that sound—they dash! Watching them turn corners perfectly and reach the bowl first is like seeing a pro athlete in action. Seeing their satisfied backs as if to say, “Ah, this is what I wanted to eat, nyah!” naturally brings a smile to my face. 😊🌸

“What Time is the Next One?” Holding a Meeting in Front of the Machine

Because the food is dispensed in small portions, the cats are well aware of the timing.

For instance, a few minutes before the dispensing time. They sit patiently in front of the machine, waiting eagerly for the moment. Sometimes, they peek into the dispenser outlet or give it a gentle poke as if to say, “Hey, maybe more will come out if I tap this?”…

The competition for the best spot in front of the bowl is an important ritual in a multi-cat household. 🍀 Watching their backs as they seriously “negotiate” with the machine is the best entertainment—I never get tired of it. ✨
