2026 Edition: Building Bonds with Your Cat! “Praise-Based” Training for Happy Habits 🐾 Purimaro’s Way
みなさん、こんにちは！ぷりまろオーナーです🐾 「猫のしつけ」と聞くと、なんだか難しそう…と思う方もいるかもしれませんね。 でも、猫ちゃんへのしつけは、実は「猫ちゃんとの信頼関係を深めるための大切なコミュニケーション」なんです。
今回は、わが家のぷりん（ラグドール）とまろん（マンチカン）が、毎日ご機嫌に過ごしている「褒めて伸ばす」しつけ術🐱をご紹介しますね。
1. 「できた！」をたっぷり褒める
猫ちゃんが望ましい行動（爪とぎはポールで、トイレはちゃんと猫砂で、など）をした時は、すかさず「すごいね！」「えらいね！」と優しく声をかけ、頭をなでたり、大好きなおやつをあげたりして、思いっきり褒めてあげましょう。 「これをすると良いことがある！」と猫ちゃんが理解し、同じ行動を繰り返してくれるようになります。
2. ダメなことは「代わりの行動」を教える
猫ちゃんが困る行動（壁で爪とぎ、テーブルに乗るなど）をした時は、頭ごなしに叱るのではなく、「本来やってほしい行動」へ優しく誘導してあげることが大切です。 例えば、壁で爪とぎをしようとしたら、すぐに「こっちだよ」と爪とぎポールに連れて行き、そこで爪とぎができたら大げさに褒めてあげます。これを繰り返すことで、猫ちゃんは正しい場所を覚えてくれますよ。
3. 短く、楽しく、根気強く
猫ちゃんの集中力は、とっても短いです！ しつけは一度に長時間行うのではなく、1回2〜3分程度で、毎日少しずつ楽しく続けるのがコツ。最初はうまくいかなくても、「まぁいっか！」くらいの気持ちで根気強く接してあげましょう。 大切なのは、猫ちゃんに「飼い主さんと一緒にいると楽しい！」と思ってもらうこと。
ぷりんとまろんも、最初は色々な場所で爪とぎをしていましたが、今ではちゃんとポールを使ってくれるようになりました。 焦らず、愛猫ちゃんのペースに合わせて、少しずつ「ハッピー習慣」を増やしていきましょうね！

Hi everyone! It’s the Purimaro owner🐾 When you hear “cat training,” it might sound a bit daunting, right? But in reality, training your cat is all about “important communication to deepen your bond and trust” with them.
Today, I’ll share our “praise-based training methods” that help my Purin (Ragdoll) and Maron (Munchkin) live happily every day.
1. Shower Them with Praise for Good Behavior!
When your cat does something you want them to do (like scratching on the post, or using the litter box properly), immediately praise them with gentle words like “Good job!” or “You’re so smart!” Pet them gently or give them their favorite treat. Cats will learn that “good things happen when I do this” and will be more likely to repeat the action.
2. Teach “Alternative Actions” for Undesirable Behaviors
When your cat engages in undesirable behavior (like scratching the wall or jumping on the table), instead of scolding them, it’s important to gently guide them toward the “desired behavior.” For example, if they try to scratch the wall, immediately take them to the scratching post and praise them enthusiastically when they use it. By repeating this, your cat will learn the correct place.
3. Keep It Short, Fun, and Patient
Cats have a very short attention span! The trick is to keep training sessions short—about 2-3 minutes at a time—and make them fun, practicing a little bit every day. Don’t worry if it doesn’t work perfectly at first; be patient with an “it’s okay!” mindset. The most important thing is for your cat to feel, “It’s fun to be with my human!”
Purin and Maron used to scratch in all sorts of places, but now they consistently use their scratching posts. Take your time, follow your cat’s pace, and gradually build those “happy habits”!
