みなさん、こんにちは！ぷりまろオーナーです🐾 前回の記事では猫ちゃんに安全なお花をご紹介しましたが、今回は「絶対にNGな植物」についてです。

私たち飼い主にとって、お部屋に緑があるのは癒やしですよね。でも、我が家のぷりまろニャンズ🐱たちを迎えてから、私は観葉植物の選び方にすごく慎重になりました。

実は以前、友人からお花をいただいた際に、その中に猫にとって猛毒の「ユリ」が混ざっていて真っ青になったことがあります。幸いすぐに気づいて別の部屋へ移動させましたが、一歩間違えれば…と思うと今でもヒヤッとします。

今回は、私のようなヒヤリハットを皆さんが経験しないよう、特に危険な植物と、猫ちゃんがいても楽しめるグリーンの工夫をまとめました。

⚠️ 猫ちゃんに与えてはいけないNG植物リスト

• ユリ科の植物： チューリップ、スイセン、ヒヤシンス、そして特にユリは、花びら、葉、茎、花粉、全てが猫にとって非常に危険です。少量でも腎臓に重いダメージを与える可能性があります。

• アサガオ・ホオズキ： 夏に人気のこれらも、種子や実に毒性があります。

• ポトス： よくある観葉植物ですが、猫が口にすると口内炎や消化器症状を引き起こすことがあります。

• アロエ： 火傷に効く薬草として知られますが、猫が摂取すると嘔吐や下痢の原因になります。

「うちの子は食べないから大丈夫」と思っていても、ふとした拍子に口にしてしまうこともあります。 少しでも「もしや？」と思ったら、自己判断を過信せず、すぐに獣医さんに相談してくださいね。

ぷりまろ家では、どうしても植物を置きたいときは、猫の手が絶対に届かない吊り下げ式のプランター（ハンギング）にしたり、本物そっくりのフェイクグリーンを活用したりしています。

English Version: Toxic Plants for Cats

Hello everyone! This is the owner of Purimaro🐾 In my last post, I introduced cat-safe flowers, but today we’re talking about “Plants that are strictly NG (No-Go).”

For us owners, having greenery in the room is so healing. However, since welcoming my beloved Purimaro kitties🐱 into my home, I’ve become extremely cautious about choosing houseplants.

In fact, I once received a bouquet from a friend that included “Lilies,” which are highly toxic to cats. I turned pale! Fortunately, I noticed immediately and moved them to another room, but I still feel a chill thinking about what could have happened.

To help you avoid such a close call, I’ve summarized the particularly dangerous plants and some tips on how to enjoy greenery safely with your cats.

⚠️ Toxic Plants List (Keep Away from Cats!)

• Lilies (Liliaceae family): Tulips, Narcissus, Hyacinths, and especially Lilies. The petals, leaves, stems, and even the pollen are extremely dangerous. Even a tiny amount can cause severe kidney damage.

• Morning Glory & Ground Cherry: These popular plants have toxic seeds and berries.

• Pothos: A common houseplant, but if a cat chews on it, it can cause mouth irritation and digestive issues.

• Aloe: While known as a medicinal herb for humans, it can cause vomiting and diarrhea if ingested by cats.

Even if you think “My cat doesn’t eat plants,” they might take a nibble by accident. If you ever think “What if…?”, please don’t rely only on your own judgment and consult a veterinarian immediately.

In the Purimaro household, when we really want to have plants, we use hanging planters that are completely out of reach, or high-quality artificial (fake) greens.
